Under the Oak Tree meditation

I love the warmer weather; this is the time of year to begin the Under the Oak Tree Meditations. Once again these meditations will be held throughout the summer and fall months in a sacred space under the canopy of the majestic Oak Tree, relaxing around the fire pit, listening to beautiful music. This year the focus is a 45 minute silent meditation. Stay tuned for the dates, they will be posted on the calendar of this website.

lauras_oak_tree_2016I love trees, the spirit within them, and the tales they can tell; for they are the quiet watchers of earth. There is healing energy that can be felt when you commune with plants and trees, because they carry a specific energy frequency and vibration. When you are feeling off balance, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, a great antidote is Tree Healing or Tree Medicine. When we think of trees, remember they are grounded with their roots so deep into earth, the trunk is the heart of the soul being and the branches stretch to reach the sky and connection with the heaven or divine.

Each tree has their specific healing qualities; I want to share Oak Healing with you! This is from The Healing Power of Trees by Sharlyn Hidalgo.

“Whenever you feel weak and helpless, sit with an oak or conjure one in your mind. Oak medicine will bring you strength, courage, and bravery. Oak is grounded and strong. It will help you when you are overly excited, anxious, or nervous. With this tree’s help, your energy will ground and even out. When you are carrying too much on your shoulders, you can ask an oak tree to take on the energy and properly disperse it back to the earth for its regeneration.

When you are in a situation that seems to be dragging on or is otherwise stagnant, invite in Oak energy; she will show you that growth and change happen even when you can’t tell physically. She grows slowly and steadily from the acorn, sometimes for centuries. She will help you to be patient. Use the image of the acorn for new ideas, projects, and intentions. Plant them and nourish them well, knowing that in time a tree will grow forth.

Oak represents fertility. If you are hoping to become a parent, commune with this tree. Ask her to share her powers of fertility.

When you are seeking knowledge, information, guidance, or wisdom, ask Oak for what you need. Oak responds to specific questions when you are researching something, especially if it has to do with ancient wisdom or spiritual lineages”.

Another element we use in the meditations is Fire. The fire center is the solar plexus chakra; this is where your light shines from. Using the element of fire creatively can transform negative qualities, thoughts, or feeling into positive ones with its purifying properties. The solar plexus is the source of your imagination, vision of the future and your desire for action. It’s here where you can come to terms with the past and “burn” accumulated karma (the consequences of the past action). Fire is thought to empower, organize, lead and manage our lives successfully. Fire assists us with releasing all that no longer serves us, transmuting the energy and then powering the physical body to activate the whole system. It is also known to promote a healthy immune system leading to vitality and a long active life.

Times of reflection

I was sitting under the oak tree, reflecting and all I wanted to do today was reflect and meditate. While I was reflecting I started thinking and trying to understand why am I sitting here — I have things to do. I am sitting still not progressing forward; I have things to write, schedules to make, emails to send out and deadlines of articles that need to be completed, and all I want to is sit under the oak tree and reflect.

All the sudden my mind wandered, I remember seeing a squirrel in the tree yesterday, right at the edge of the branch; I thought it may fall out because it was weighing the branch down so much and it was right at the edge. Then I thought, maybe it was looking for acorns. Hmmm! I haven’t seen any acorns this year. I went to get up to look; as I looked down on the ground as I went to step, I saw many tiny little acorns!

The symbolism of acorns is growth and unlimited potential, because the acorn is the seed of the oak tree. The acorn, in its dormant state, reminds us that we, too, need periods of rest/dormancy and periods of growth. The wise and humble oak has great wisdom, and reflecting under its beautiful canopy reminds me of the importance of living within the season, with grace and harmony. The acorn teaches me about my potential and how one acorn can grow into a massive oak and seed a whole forest. The oak tree is only partially seen; the massive root system of an oak tree is as tall and wide as the tree itself. This teaches me that there is much to living and the unseen in our journey is ahead on the path. So by sitting under the oak tree today I am doing something that is connecting with earth, ground and manifesting for days to come. Inner personal work is always being done even if it is observed as nothing.

P.S. If you’d like to experience the power and wisdom that can come from meditating under the Oak, inquire about my regular Under the Oak Tree sessions.

Gift of Clarity

Light workers are individuals that wanted the experience to lead mankind; to light the path for those that are in darkness or in the shadowy areas straddling the light and darkness. The day before the New Moon is the Dark moon — this is a time for deep reflection and contemplation. Opening a circle of unconditional love and the lessons in seeing into the darkness is a *Gift of Clarity*. Clarifying the purpose of our journey to enlightenment, each step of the way brings lessons to move us to the next level of higher vibration.

To understand vibrational frequency: everything in our existence has a vibration; earth, humans, animals, rocks, trees, and plants. We are all connected with everything and everyone on the planet. Universal consciousness is the connection and understanding the energies that surround us is important. We emit and absorb other people’s energies; each person is vibrating at a different frequency. The great news is that you can change your vibrational frequency by changing how you view the world and all that exists in it. Grounding yourself to earth’s energies is a process. Step-by-step you can allow yourself to follow the natural ebb and flow of nature. There are systems and cycles that nature flows for the inevitable birth, re-birth and transformation process. We are ever changing and evolving during our journey, learning the *Law’s of Nature* to assist us to move you to the next level.

Blessings of Love & Light to All!

Under the Oak Tree meditations

In the seasons of warm weather I host regular meditations under this beautiful, wise tree, held in a quiet location in Niagara Falls (Ontario). See dates on the events calendar.

You owe it to yourself to take the time to release the energies that no longer serve you and fill up with the beauty of nature. The beautiful things about grounding yourself under the oak tree are the lessons that we can learn from them. They are teachers of honor, respect, strength & courage and so much more… Allow the wisdom of the tree to teach you; how to honor and respect yourself while giving you strength and courage to flow naturally through life.

Everything is connected and nature has tools to bring light to our very existence. The powerful tools that we discuss in Under the Oak Tree™ sessions include the connection between the emotional guidance scale, the power and beauty of roses and the trees that we are attracted to.

If it rains the meditation will be in the garage with a Candle Light ambiance. There will be water and tea to drink so if you want something else, feel free to bring it with you. Chairs are available to sit on. You can bring a blanket if you wish to sit on the ground. I always have all-natural bug spray available for anyone that wants to use it.

Each evening will have a different theme, or set of meditations. Past topics and meditations have included:

  • Balance of Emotions while utilizing Nature’s Gifts
  • Fire Meditation
  • Meditation to enhance your visualization skills
  • The meaning and purpose of the Oak Tree.
  • Grounding techniques, and understanding the connection with Earth

The Power of Maples and the Giant Sycamore

maple trees

Maple Trees, like the two pictured on the left, help you balance the male and female energies within you and in your relationships with others.

There are over a dozen species of maple trees. I have always loved playing with the helicopters or seeds from the tree. I recently went on a trip with a friend to visit areas in Ridgeway, Crystal Beach, Port Colborne and Fort Erie. The trees in these pictures are just outside of the fort, in Fort Erie.

A fascinating part of this trip was, as we were driving along Thunderbay Rd in Ridgeway, both of us were looking in wonder as we approached a shower of maple keys from a tree along side of the road. It was a magical site, that left us with a joyous memory.

The beautiful maples tree have energies of sweet promise and aspiration. They awaken our inner fire, sharpen our intuition and enhance our creativity.

On the right is a picture from inside the actual Fort Erie, of a Sycamore Tree. I had spent a few hours walking around the outside and then the inside of the Fort and nearing the end I came to this beautiful Sycamore Tree. By this time my feet were tired and hot, and I appreciated its sheltering shade!

I read online that “the sycamore is found in low lying areas, near streams or where water flows or gathers. It likes to soak its feet in the water, and for those to whom the sycamore comes as a messenger, exploring foot reflexology and foot baths can be a tremendous health benefit.

Sycamore energies help prevent atrophy of higher abilities the individual has brought into this lifetime. It is a reminder to build on old gifts and to express them in new ways; it can open communication between the conscious and subconscious minds when used in meditation and magical practices. It strengthens the life force of the individual and brings opportunities to receive intuitive and spiritual gifts from the universe.

The sycamore is also a sign that gifts are on the horizon. These gifts may come in the form of assistance, compliments, etc. It is important to receive them graciously, for if we do not receive the little things, the universe will not bring us the big things. It holds the knowledge of the laws of abundance and how to utilize them to your greatest benefit. It also has the knowledge of hidden treasures of the Earth. The sycamore awakens the feminine energies of intuition, beauty and nourishment around us. It can open us to the energies of love and Nature and all their magnificent aspects. The sycamore will augment all connections to Nature, and its appearance in our life encourages us to draw upon the realm of Nature for health, abundance and inspiration.”

The Healing Path

I am a path finder, directing individuals to a path that is honoring and respecting themselves so they are able to *Walk in their Truth & Being their Authentic Self.” The individuals that honor me with their presence generally want to find themselves, so I assist them by using many different techniques, that I use in my sessions: Reflexology and Energy Healing along with Smudging, Tuning Forks (for chakra balancing and auric cleansing) Crystal Healing, Color therapy & Aromatherapy.

Some times during and most definitely after the session, feedback is an essential way to reach deep inside to find the areas within the body to heal. The healing path is filled with layers of issues, challenges and situations from past experiences that need to be brought to the forefront, face them and eliminate them.

Throughout my own life I have faced many challenges and instead of fearing the issue or challenge I face it head-on, deal with it and let it go.

I have always loved this quote from Wayne Dyer:

Change how you look at something, and that which you look at changes. Being kind and caring toward thyself and knowing that there are many layers to the story of your life is the first step in the healing process.

“Patience is a virtue” and you deserve to be walking in your Truth and being *Authentically You*.

Wisdom is within all of us!! Sit quietly in nature and allow yourself to tap into your inner wisdom. Ask yourself questions like am I on the right path on my journey? You will get an automatic answer; the first thing that comes to your mind is from your inner wisdom. So listen to yourself it’s one way of honoring yourself. Self love and appreciation is your gift to yourself.

Walking the path of authenticity is your personal *Truth* and it leads you to *Freedom*.

You Can Heal Your Life

I believe in the teachings of Louise Hay, who says that “You Can Heal Your Life”. You can dig deep within yourself to understand the underlying cause of the imbalance. We know how important it is to balance ourselves mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

When I do reflexology or reiki sessions, my intention is to create a balanced environment in your body, by increasing circulation, by removing the stress or tension. With circulation enhanced blockages are released, and when stress/tension removed the body can return to “Homeostasis,” or its “normal state” of being. As I stimulate each and every reflex in the body I also work on the endocrine system, which consists of all all your glands and is the body’s “control system”.

Each of these glands also represents one of the chakra centers. The glands each secrete hormones that regulate functions throughout the body and they need to be balanced in order for us to feel and be well. Just like, when one chakra is out of balance it cannot generate the free flow of energy that is needed for us to be healthy.
