Reflecting on 2025
This is a perfect time of year for deep, productive reflection, especially with the converging energies of the season and the cosmos.
As Mercury Retrograde is coming to an end on November 29th, and the year is winding down. This is an excellent opportunity for necessary introspection and life review. Pause for a moment and take stock of your accomplishment and assessing the progress made throughout this year. This is a time to rethink, recalibrate, reflect and review. Review old projects, ideas, and communication patterns. Adjust strategies that didn’t work over the last 11 months. Look at personal progress without judgment.
As the year winds down, use this reflective energy to genuinely acknowledge your growth. Since 2025 is Universal Year 9 which is focused on endings, releasing and completion. Here are a list of questions or journal prompts that you can ponder on to assist you with reviewing 2025.
Journal Prompts
- What significant beliefs, habits, or people did you release in 2025 that were holding you back? Describe the process of letting go and the lightness or space that followed.
- Where did you embody compassion or step into a role of service?
- What life cycle came to an end this year (example, project, mindset, long-term goal)?
- Reflect on a relationship or project that ended this year. What was the most valuable lesson that conclusion offered you about yourself, rather than about the other person in the situation?
- Where did you consciously practice compassion or service in 2025? Describe the impact that effort had on others and, more importantly, on your own sense of fulfillment.
- Identify one goal or strategy you pursued at the beginning of 2025 that you ultimately decided to stop or change. Why did you pivot, and what did you learn about your own needs or limitations in the process?
- What technical skill did you master, improve, or apply successfully this year?
- Describe a time you used tact and diplomacy to navigate a challenging professional situation. What was the positive outcome?
- What was your greatest unexpected challenge this year, and what invaluable lesson did you extract from it?
- What relationships deepened or improved, demonstrating growth in your empathy and communication?
- Identify a “mistake” or unexpected setback this year. View it not as a failure, but as invaluable data. What specific, actionable lesson did that provide for your routines or decision-making?
- Recall a moment this year when you were overly critical of yourself. How would your wiser self respond to that moment? Write a short, compassionate affirmation based on that memory.
- Where did you find your greatest sense of presence and enjoyment in 2025? How can you consciously invite more of that specific activity or environment into your life during 2026?
I hope this journal prompts helped you with reflecting and reviewing this year!
